What’s in orbit

Not a roadmap — everything below is built and tested on real devices.

  • Messages

Quoted replies, editing and deleting on both sides, copying, reactions. Read receipts and a typing indicator, as they should be.

  • Photos and voice

A photo from the library opens full screen. Voice records two ways: hold and release to send, or tap once and keep talking hands-free.

  • Calls

Voice and video, your own camera in the corner, switchable to the front lens. Connection quality is on screen: latency and jitter in milliseconds.

  • Channels

A one-way feed where only the author posts. Found by name or address, joined by a link — the same link works for groups.

  • A profile that is yours

An orbit around your photo with a planet travelling along it, a space background in the same colour, your own links. Nothing like it in other messengers.

  • Stickers

Fifteen packs, 226 stickers, all inside the app — no download, no waiting. Each is tied to an emoji: type one and the matching stickers appear.

  • Recovery phrase

Twelve words, shown once. Forget your passcode and those words bring the account back. The server keeps only their fingerprint and cannot reveal them.

  • Seven languages

Interface, dates and plurals in English, Russian, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Tajik, Uzbek and Arabic.

  • Wallpapers and sounds

A chat background from six presets or your own photo. Message sounds, including a sound file of your own. Everything stays on the device.

What the server knows about you

Short and without soft wording — because soft wording is exactly what usually goes here.

Your address in the Orbeo universe
@kirill

That is what you give people. Your number and e-mail stay with you — Orbeo never asks for them.

Stored

  • ✓Your Orbeo ID, name, bio and photo — the ones you chose yourself
  • ✓Messages and attachments, so they reach your second device
  • ✓Last sign-in time, for the “recently online” mark
  • ✓A fingerprint of the recovery phrase, never the phrase

Never asked for, never collected

  • ×Phone number and email address
  • ×The contact list from your phone
  • ×Location and advertising identifiers
  • ×Call recordings — a call leaves only the fact that it happened and how long it lasted

Questions

The short version.

Why a messenger with no phone number?

A number gives you away: it leads to your profiles, ties accounts together and lets strangers call. In Orbeo you hand out only your Orbeo ID — a short name that says nothing else about you.

How do I sign in with no number and no e-mail?

You choose an Orbeo ID and a passcode, and the app shows twelve recovery words once. Forget the passcode — those words bring the account back. The server keeps only their fingerprint.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. Orbeo is free and has no ads.

Where does it work?

iPhone and iPad, Android, Mac, Windows and any browser at web.orbeo.me. The chats are the same everywhere; calls are app-only for now.
